Giving Back to Our Community: Anglin Serve Day 2024

At Anglin, giving back to our community is more than just an initiative—it’s a core value we uphold every day. This year, our Serve Day 2024 was a testament to the strength of teamwork and compassion as we came together to support organizations that make Huntsville a better place for everyone.

Manna House: Supporting Growth and Nourishment

Our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help at Manna House, a local organization dedicated to providing food for those in need. We contributed by:

  • Planting lettuce in their hydroponic garden to support their sustainable growing efforts.
  • Cleaning transportation crates used to deliver meals and supplies.

This hands-on experience connected us to their mission and underscored the importance of fresh, nutritious food for the community.

Greater Huntsville Humane Society’s “Three Tails Resale Thrift Store”

Our team joined the efforts at Three Tails Resale Thrift Store, a shop that funds the Greater Huntsville Humane Society’s mission to care for animals in need. While the tasks varied, our team’s contributions helped ensure the store was well-maintained and ready to serve the community.

Kids2Love

At Kids to Love, we:

  • Organized toys and clothing in their warehouse to support their ongoing efforts to provide essentials for foster children.
  • Shopped Christmas wish lists in the warehouse for children in foster care.

It was inspiring to see how these efforts could help foster children feel supported, valued, and cared for during the holiday season.

In-Office Service: Spreading Cheer and Gratitude

While some team members worked in the field, others stayed in the office to support two vital initiatives:

  • Huntsville Police Department: Assembling and delivering over 150 goodie bags filled with snacks and treats to express our gratitude to local law enforcement.
  • USASOA – Serving Our Heroes: Writing and drawing heartfelt Christmas cards to send holiday cheer to deployed troops, ensuring they know they are remembered and appreciated.

Village of Promise: Revitalizing the Grounds

At Village of Promise, an organization devoted to breaking the cycle of poverty, we focused on revitalizing their property by:

  • Pressure washing several areas, including the front signage and playground, to create a cleaner, more inviting environment for the children and families they serve.

Huntsville Community Drumline

The Huntsville Community Drumline provides a safe and creative space for young people to develop their musical talents. Our team contributed by:

  • Trimming hedges, clearing overgrowth, and weed-eating to enhance their outdoor space and make it more welcoming for the community.
